It looks like this opened inside another app, such as your email. Tap the menu in the corner and choose Open in Safari, or type app.dailystart.co.nz into Safari yourself, then follow the three steps below.

Add Daily Start to your Home Screen

On an iPhone this is the only way we are allowed to send you the morning message. It takes about twenty seconds, and you only ever do it once.

  1. Tap the Share button A square with an arrow coming out of the top. In Safari it is along the bottom of the screen, in Chrome it is in the menu at the top right.
  2. Choose Add to Home Screen Scroll the list down a little way, it sits below the sharing options.
  3. Tap Add The Daily Start icon appears on your Home Screen, alongside your other apps.
  4. Close this page, then open Daily Start from the icon This bit matters. The Home Screen app keeps its own separate login, so it will ask you to sign in once more. That is normal, not something going wrong, and it is the last time you will have to.

You are welcome to carry on in your browser, but Apple will not let us send notifications to a browser tab. You would have to open Daily Start yourself each morning to see how the day had started.

            Your kit's sensors are already connected. Rename one if you move it somewhere else, or add an extra one here.

            Hold the new sensor's button until its light blinks, it usually joins within a minute or two.

            Delete this household

            This removes everything for this household, the activity log, sensors, away times, the family plan and members, for good. It can't be undone. (Anyone's login stays, this only deletes the household.)

                Step 1 of 7 · Your kit code

                Let's connect your kit

                Your Daily Start kit came with a short code on the box. Pop it in and we'll link the hub and sensors that were paired for you, no scanning, nothing technical.

                Step 2 of 7 · Placing the sensors

                Where the sensors go

                They're already connected, so this is just about where to pop them. Peel-and-stick, no tools. Put each one where it suits the house, then tell us what to call it. That's the name you'll see in the activity log, and you can change it any time.

                  The hub

                  Plug it in and connect the network cable, to your router if you can. Leave it switched on, that's all it needs.

                  Step 3 of 7 · The morning check

                  If the morning stays quiet

                  Choose when we should let the family know. If there's still no sign of the day by this time, we send a gentle nudge to give a call. Most people pick mid-morning, and you can change it any time.

                  Step 4 of 7 · Keeping it open and kind

                  Make sure they're happy with this

                  Daily Start is only ever open and consensual, never hidden. Before it starts, we make sure the person it looks out for knows what it does.

                  There's a printed note in the box

                  A warm, plain-language, large-text page written for them: what the sensors notice, what they never do, and that they can see or stop it any time. Read it through together.

                  Daily Start only begins once this is confirmed. You can pause or delete everything at any time.

                  Step 5 of 7 · The person at home

                  Would they like it on their phone?

                  Plenty of people like seeing it themselves. They get their own login showing their day, their sensors and their away times, and we never send them a single notification.

                  Completely optional, and nothing changes for you either way. You can add or change this later under Family.

                  Step 6 of 7 · Invite your family

                  Bring in the family

                  Daily Start is nicer shared. Invite anyone who'd like the same reassurance, they get their own login and see everything you do. You can always add more later.

                  They'll get an email with a link to join. There's nothing for them to set up first, and nothing more to pay: your plan covers everyone.

                  Step 7 of 7 · Switch it on

                  Start your subscription

                  Pick the plan that suits you. Daily Start stays quiet until this is set up, with no contract and cancel any time. If you've a code for free months, you can pop it in on the next screen.

                  Paid securely by Stripe

                  The next screen is Stripe's, where your card, Apple Pay or Google Pay is handled safely. We never see your card details, and your invoices live there too.
